You belong to the Church of Rock and Roll

He say don't call me beautiful/
he say he ain't like that/
he say 'easy babe, I ain't yer automat/

He say he once was innocent/
but he quick got over that/

he belongs to the church of rock & roll

She say she don't need nothing/
just guitar and coat and rings/
she say she don't love one/
she say she loves all under the sun/

she belongs to the church of rock and roll/

he say he ain't no righteous one/
he say he don't speak in tongues/
he got glass to block the sun/
Says his god was Born To Run/

He belongs to the Church of Rock & Roll/
she belongs to the church of rock & roll/

She say when she lay down to die/
don't mind flowers and tears that you cry/
bury me deep with my guitar by my side/
she's the only one ain't made me cry/

he says 'But I won't stop' /
I don't care what they say I gotta play/ everyday/
He belongs to the church of rock & roll/

She belongs to the church of Rock & Roll/

Part of Alexandria's UNANIMOUS STAY performance thesis in the Goddard College MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts.

UNANIMOUS STAY was originally a term used by astronauts and their ground base to signal that everyone was going ahead with the mission, in spite of certain peril. I found this term a delightful metaphor for our global community and collective (un)conscious.

Church of Rock and Roll is a visual statement challenging the idea of religion as true spiritual inspiration. Instead it suggests that symbolism is in fact repetitive and true strengthening of spirit comes from the ambition to create, experience and be enlightened by music. This video also suggests that The Church of Rock and Roll welcomes all souls, and is often represented by Rebels who have faced great hardship and were saved by music.

The thesis is presented as several observations of life on Earth, ranging from the Galactic Procession Theory, life cycles, and hard facts from statistical studies gathered by humanitarian organizations.
