Ton Pret started approximately 10 years ago with paint. By busy operations with its own company, he searched for a way to relax. A dear friend of his, gave him the tip on how to take it slow in learning to paint. Wildly enthusiastic he started his new found career.
Almost immediately bouquets were flying due to his well grafted creations. This made him eager to develop his own sense of style.
In 1997 Ton was brash enough to register for an exhibition in the building "Delftse Poort" in Rotterdam. Magazines published pictures of his work and he became the new "Cobra" minded discovery of the year. During this period Ton's personal life took a blow, his father died. He had a hard time dealing with this. Ever since that day, Ton mourned over his loss by not giving any thought to register for another exhibition. In painting bright colors and happy pictures he found some comfort instead.
Ton found out he was much better of by making creative expressions then being busy in the
world of business. He decided to focus on art completely. Starting from January 2005 Ton became a fulltime member of the art world. The idea got across and success guaranteed!
Ton Pret is a self-educated man who is not bound by rules but guided by inspiration from
his warm-hearted and positive minded inner child.
