Miss Adventure is a classic example of the "barrel back" boats that were a common sight in the 1000 Islands during the 1940s and 1950s. In the background is the yacht house of the famous Boldt's Castle of Heart Island, Alexandria Bay, NY. As you can see in the painting, the boat house doors were designed to be several stories tall in order to accommodate the masts of George Boldt's various yachts.
